IMS is a German startup company founded by two Swedish chemists who worked in the Nuclear Industry for over 40 years. Both were involved in a variety of (radio) chemical processes at different Nuclear power Plants.

Nuclear medicine to reduce radioactivity and minimize secondary waste.

Problem

In the nuclear medicine, oftentimes contaminated liquid waste can cause problems. Although, the isotopes typically used for medical applications, have a very short half-life, the amount of waste that must be stored even over a rather short period of times can lead to a variety of problems, including limiting the treatment of patients.

Solution

The IMS process can reduce the storage time significantly. The reaction system is based on flow circulation in a vortex intensive environment. Due to the fact that the process is not a chemical reaction, no exotherm reaction is to be expected.

The process doesn’t require a lot of space and normally can be set up in or near the waste storage area.
